The term “Whistleblowing,” which means “reporting,” refers to the notification made by an individual who, in the workplace context, becomes aware of violations of national, European, or internal regulations that harm public interest or the integrity of Public Administration or Private Entities (Legislative Decree 24/2023). In legal terminology, this term also refers to the set of rules aimed at protecting individuals who report crimes, violations of laws, or more broadly, irregular conduct from possible retaliation in the workplace.
